A Drawing Day - Studies from the ROM and OCAD

I broke up the weekly routine yesterday with a visit to the Royal Ontario Museum to do some drawing with a friend of mine. We then headed to the Ontario College of Art and Design (A.K.A. OCAD University) for their Wednesday open life drawing session.

Life Drawing - Switching it Up is Sometimes Necessary

To avoid getting too comfortable with my drawing habits and to get the brain involved with my drawing again. I have been switching up my drawing size (18"x24" instead of the more comfortable 24"x36"), drawing materials (i.e. changing to cartridge paper instead of newsprint and using various types of charcoal as well as the graffiti markers), and even my drawing position (i.e. seated versus standing) during my weekly life drawing routine/schedule. This process of constant change has definitely been challenging to say the least, proportions being the first thing to go, but the learning process is welcome as always and hopefully this will deepen my drawing thought process and approach, bringing my drawings to the next level and to avoid relying on habits.
